Self-Report your Pool Today

A neglected pool will become a significant mosquito production source, the potential increases as the weather warms up in the summer.

Help Keep Your Neighborhood Mosquito-Free – Report Your Pool Status

Delta Mosquito and Vector Control District works to protect public health by reducing mosquitoes that spread disease to people and pets. One major challenge we face is neglected swimming pools.

Mosquitoes only need a little water and about a week to grow. If a pool isn’t clean and cared for, it can produce thousands of mosquitoes—some that spread serious diseases like West Nile virus. But a clean pool? No problem!

Every year, we try to find problem pools using inspections and aerial surveys that help us spot green water. But those tools can miss things.

That’s why we need you.
If you let us know your pool is clean, we can skip it and focus on places that need help. This saves time, stops mosquitoes early, and keeps your neighborhood safe and comfortable.

Thanks for doing your part to keep our community healthy and mosquito-free!

Services During an Inspection

Larvae Inspections

Larvae Inspections

Our technician will search various backyard water sources for the presence of immature mosquitoes (larvae or pupae).

Source Reduction

Source Reduction

We use an integrated vector management strategy to remove or control water sources where immature mosquitoes grow, stopping them from developing into biting adults. This reduces the size of the mosquito populations and interrupts the transmission of mosquito-borne diseases.

Large Water Sources

Large Water Sources

Unmaintained swimming pools, large ponds and fountains, watering troughs and street gutters.

Education

Education

The technician will explain what mosquitoes sources were found on your property, how to prevent further mosquito production, and how to prevent mosquito bites.
